Is the comic strip a Joost Swarte? Or more likely still, Herge's 'Tintin'?

You know, whether you have been conscious of it or not, you've come to confront "identity politics" head on by simply drawing attention to these works.

There is that decimating final montage in Spike Lee's movie, 'Bamboozled', basically a string of racist bits from the golden era--many of which I remember enjoying with relative innocence as a child. It awakens that dual impulse in the viewer to, one, blot out all the wrongheadedness and cavalier prejudice, and, two, to embrace the beauty that fails to yield to good reason and basic justice.

will pym suggested i watch mad men. and the show accomplishes everything i've ever wanted to accomplish with my subtly remarking on identity issues. and in such a cavalier way. i am in love with//appalled by it.
